$10-20 sliding scale (pay what you can afford)

Come learn all about the joys and pleasures of strapping it on.  Discuss the pros and cons of different kinds of harnesses (ever wonder what the difference is between a g-string and a dual strap?), learn how to properly inset cocks and dildos into the rings, and contemplate a plethora of positions.  This class is open to singles, couples and more-somes of all sexes and genders (we’ll cover pegging too, as well as using harnesses for cuckolding).  Never used a harness before? That’s fine – we’ll start with the basics. Plus, everyone will get to try on harnesses with toys to get a feel for the different styles, as well as figure out what works best for them if they so choose.  Come ready to play!

At present, we (myself and my intern Rebecca) are compiling a list of Colorado business providers that are friendly to individuals who identify as Kinky, Queer, Polyamorous, and/or Transgender.  Although there are networks in existence that aid in finding nondiscriminatory providers, there remains a need for a comprehensive and accessible list so that individuals who identify as any or all of the above along with their allies may make educated decisions about their service providers.  receive the services they deserve  or individuals who are allies to the queer community may get the services they need and/or make educated decisions about their service providers.  This list aims to fill that need.
If you or your business would like to join our growing list of Kinky, Queer, Polyamorous, and Transgender friendly organizations here in Colorado, we would love to have you on the list. It is open to all type of providers; medical, mediators, therapists, massage therapist, lawyers, etc.
If this is of interest the information we will need from you is listed below.
Information we need from YOU:
1. The service you provide.
2. Your name and/or organization, plus contact information.
3. Your specialties.
4. Pricing.  Please note we will be highlighting individuals who offer sliding scale services.  Please let us know if that is indeed the case.
5. Any other information.
Please send the above information to rebeccaberen @ gmail. com to be included.
Thanks!
-Shanna and Rebecca

**If you are a M.D., Counselor, Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, and/or Massage Therapist please let us know which of the above four populations you are most comfortable/experience working with.  If you are comfortable working with all four populations, then list all four.  The reason we would like to know this is because your profession often brings you into contact with the patient in a more physically intimate way than the majority of other professions.  Because this is the case, individuals may wish to take special care when selecting a provider in this field.

Both folks online and those attending my workshops are always asking me for an inclusive list of all of the sex toy and lubricant companies that create body friendly sex toys and lubes. I usually point them over to the Coalition Against Toxic Toys (aka, BadVibes.org), but their list, while excellent, is much shorter than all of the companies out there producing good products. And of course, if you check out my list of Feminist and Sex Positive Toys Stores, you’ll be more likely to find good quality, body safe sex toys and lubes there.

That all being said, I’ve spent the last few weeks putting together the most inclusive list I could of body friendly sex toy companies and body safe lube companies. I’ve asked other sex educators, sexuality retailers, bloggers, etc, and together, we have created this list of companies. Now, they could certainly change their products, and I might not know, so if you have info on them producing toxic toys, just contact me. Also contact me if you know of a body friendly company that is not yet on the list, and I’ll update it. However, please note that I am trying to feature companies that are completely phthalate and other chemical free, so while some larger toys companies DO produce SOME body friendly toys, they are not listed because other toys they make are dangerous for bodies.

And with no further ado, I present to you, my list of Body Friendly Sex Toy and Lube Companies.

Happy March to all of you!

I’ve decided to give away a copy of my first book, Oral Sex That’ll Blow Her Mind.

Oral sex that'll blow her mind

This book is awesome. I mean, granted, I wrote it myself, but still. There aren’t that many how-to books on cunnilingus out there, and even fewer that cater to all orientations, and recognize the diversity of gender identities and presentations that make up women. Plus, I have a ridiculous sense of humor, so if nothing else, it should be an amusing read.

1) Leave comment on this post about why you should win. (1 entry)

2) Tweet about the giveaway. Example: “Win a free book on cunnilingus at http://shannakatz.com/2013/03/20/oral-sex-book-giveaway/. Thanks @shanna_katz!” or whatever you’d like to come up with. Leave a comment with a link to the tweet. (1 entry per day)

3. Post on Facebook about the giveaway with a link to http://shannakatz.com/2013/03/20/oral-sex-book-giveaway/. Leave a comment with a link to the tweet. (1 entry per day)

4. Sign up to receive my monthly newsletter, the Katz Meow. Leave a comment. (1 entry)

5. Write a post on your blog about the giveaway and link to here. Leave a comment with a link to the post (5 entries)

Alrighty, the deadline for all of your entries is Midnight on Friday, April 5, 2013.

Winner must be US based, or can be international if willing to pay for their own shipping. 18+ only please.

Can’t wait and want to buy your own copy? Email me at shannakatz at gmail (dot) com and I can send you your own copy or copies ASAP, signed however you’d like!

Let the games being!

People frequently ask me which sex toy stores I recommend to them. Lucky for everyone, I’ve been working on compiling a whole list of awesome toy stores that are feminist owned, or woman owned, or have a stated commitment to sex positivity.

Said list of awesome sex toys stores with body friendly items can be found here.

Am I missing anyone? Let me know, and I’ll add them pending me checking them out. While Amazon has its time and place, I would much rather you support your local sex toy stores and sexuality resource centers (and local bookstores!) over a large site like that. Buying a dildo from a big fancy site? Not a big deal for one dildo. Buying a dildo from a locally owned store? That is an investment in increasing sex positivity in our community. Which sounds more exciting? I thought so.

Enjoy the list, and enjoy your savvy sex toy shopping.

Thanks to Westword and all of my readers, I’ve been named the Westword #WebAwards Best Sex Blogger of 2012.

I’m honored that they recognized that blogging about sex education and making sure people have a fun way to medically accurate, useful and interesting information about sex, sexuality, gender, orientation, etc, is just as important as hot blogs full of real life erotica.

I raise my glass to you Denver, and to Colorado! Proud to have won.
